Carrie A. Hackett, Esq.
Carrie is compassionate, experienced, and effective at resolving your family law situations.
Carrie Anderson Hackett founded Hackett Family Resolutions, LLC in 2023 after over ten years of successful litigation, mediation, and Guardian ad Litem practice with Hackett & Wine, LLC, a firm she and her law partner, Ashley Wine, founded in 2012. Prior to that, Carrie worked as a family law and criminal defense attorney as an associate and partner at boutique law firms in Buckhead, Roswell, and in Forsyth County, Georgia. Carrie transitioned out of litigation practice to found Hackett Family Resolutions because she is a true believer that family issues, especially those involving children, are best resolved outside of a courtroom. Prior to forming Hackett Family Resolutions, Carrie served as a litigator in over a thousand family law cases in and around metro-Atlanta.
At Hackett Family Resolutions, Carrie serves as a mediator, creatively facilitating the resolution of all family law matters prior to litigation or during litigation. In her mediation practice, Carrie works with lawyers, their clients, and pro se parties to divide assets and debts, resolve custody disputes, and resolve child support and alimony disputes. Carrie has been certified as a mediator since 2012 and has mediated hundreds of cases.
Carrie also serves as an arbitrator from time to time. An arbitrator has binding authority to decide issues, if parties give her such authority. In her role as an arbitrator, Carrie hears evidence and makes decisions about what is best for a family.
Carrie also serves as a Guardian ad Litem, a person entrusted to investigate and make recommendations to parents, and ultimately to a Court about what parenting time and decision-making situation would best serve the children in the family. Carrie has been a trained and active Guardian ad Litem since 2014.
Carrie's professional experience as a domestic lawyer, coupled with her personal experience as a divorced and remarried parent informs her deep insight and empathy when performing her Guardian ad Litem work and as a domestic mediator. Carrie enjoys getting to know the parents and children she interacts with and comes up with creative solutions to facilitate parenting time between both parents and their children.
Carrie Hackett was born in Athens, Georgia and grew up in Tallahassee, Florida, where she graduated from Leon High School.
